The fact he helped people get out, got to Stacey, saved her and the saddest part was when he was getting crushed by the beam he was thinking he was going to be okay asking “how long do you think it’ll take” and talking about his and Stacey’s future and still died but died a hero

This would have been ambitious enough even if it had been recorded over several weeks, never mind in 30 minutes! And poor Lacey was meant to be enjoying her maternity leave!

So sad they killed off Martin. At the same time love the episode. Love the idea of naming Sonia’s baby Julia after the shows original creator.

I hope Lacey gets the British Soap Award for outstanding achievement. She’s been through so much, but her performance in this blew me away.

ill tell you one thing eastenders certaintly didnt dissapoint for their 40th anniversary the acting was so good you literally would not even think it was a live episode hats of to Lacey turner and james bye the most heartbreaking scenes they both deserve so much credit for their powerhouse peformance in that episode but in particular lacey mainly for the fact she had only given birth a few weeks before that live episode and carried it so well thats a true proffesional a superstar actress.

the way everyone just froze was out of order they should get some help to carry Martin out and Stacey won't scream for saying no three times and none of this would've happened and Martin should be in it by now

I don't watch eastenders these day because it's all woke up, but it was well done, how in one room life is being born and in the other room at the same time someone dies and it was poetic how it was sonia giving life and martin losing life, because of all the stuff they have been through forget about ruby and stacey, it will hit sonia hard as well
