As you may already know, Nicosia (nick-oh-SEE-uh) was the focus of many messy skirmishes during the time that Cyprus went through the process of becoming a split country--probably 40 years ago.

A lot of shops may be closed on Friday at midday too as that's the day where we (Muslims) have our Friday prayer! Although you could also take advantage of that and visit more mosques on Friday instead as the atmosphere is 10 times more buzzing :)

We are just binging the vlogs now. We've started at day one and we're obsessed! I have been to Nicosia (Lefkosia) on the southern side and they teach you about the war in 1974. Does it not show that on the Turkish side? It's very relevant on the south side. We were told if we crossed to the north we might not be allowed back. X
