Uma bharati & Kalyan Singh made the mistake of leaving a cadre party like BJP, not a family party like the Congress, which Sharad Pawar left. Same fate would happen to people leaving the CPM in a state like Kerala where CPM functions as cadre party.

What is hurting in the whole debate is these so called popular channels always give the importance to the caste, community and religion based analysis than the achievements of the candidate or any positive references. As a Indian I wish to see a day when this kind of divisive approach to any critical issues to be done away with completely. After all, once elected, a MLA or MP is supposed to be representing the entire population of his constituency, not just his followers or those who voted for him or her. Parties should convince the voters about their ideology and suitability for governance based on positive approach of development, vision and approachability to the common man. It’s a common fact that once elected these so called representatives are hardly accessible or approachable and can even be outright abusive and arrogant.
