[1] %appdata%

TEXT GUIDE:
[1] open the run window, type %appdata%, scroll till you find stardewvalley, open the folder and inside delete the file named startup_preferences
[2] make sure you have .net 5.0 or above, if not you can download the latest version for your operating system.
[3] download and run the exe file to install microsofts .net sdk
[4] open steam, right click stardew valley and select properties, and make sure launch options is empty
[5] if none of them work, head over to betas, and in the beta participation dropdown select comaptability option.
[6] if that doesnt work your going to have to contact them via email.
[7] also remember to switch back the beta participation to none if it didnt work for you.

Just in case somebody comes across this and is wondering. This still works for the newest update as of 1.6.

Thank you! My fiancé's game was "launching" but wouldn't actually show anything and you could only hear the music. Nothing seemed to help, until we change to the 32-bit compatibility.
