It's nice to see a tutorial that shows what can be achieved with things you most likely already own (or can purchase readily at low cost), instead of operating under the assumption that you have an expensive DSLR camera with a high-end macro lens laying around, and an entire area set up with perfect lighting.

Thanks for making this video - I had asked my husband to make one of these stands for me, but I wasn't 100% sure I had the items rubber piece size correct, so told him to wait - I'm glad to see I didn't steer him wrong and he can get to work on making it!

Excellent - I have used the book setup and three difused LED lamps - and gotten some good pics. I thought that system was simple to use! Your system eliminates the power cords etc., and is a lot smaller.

Great info for photos.. absolutely love the mintstate idea. This is the future of coin grading without a doubt and adding the coin listing for collectors set's it above all others.

Just discovered your site. Thank you sooo much. I have been using a spreadsheet I created and an elaborate setup to photograph my collection for years now. What a difference the tools on your site make!! In the process of moving my Excel info to your program. Thanks again.

Some resourceful ingenuity led to this much appreciated invention. My light arrives tomorrow morn. This will forever be known as "The Studio"! Excellent thinking

Luster is reflective. The black tube will effect the luster along with the light wavelength. If you can change to lamp color do it. Luster and toning works best with amber/red light.

For people using the links, make sure to choose the 4" coupler as there are different sizes to choose from and it defaults to 3". Great video!

Seems like this technique would also work for pendants and rings. You might consider making a jewelry photo video.

I was using a similar lamp but much larger of 8 inches diameter, with the movement above the coin in the larger lamp you can photograph all the luster of the coin. But I am also getting these equipments that you suggest to take other pictures with out Luster, for a clearer shot. Thanks
