Students talking about aid to Ukraine were insanely off on so many facts. EU as a whole still pays more to Ukraine than US and some EU countries pay much higher share of their GDP than US.

In addition, a lot of aid send to Ukraine by America isn't costing them much. What people don't realize is that Ukraine needs more missiles and ammunition than money. And sending missiles to Ukraine is actually good value for America. Maintenance of them costs anyway and sending them to Ukraine so that they can be used to kill enemiesnof America is a great value for money.

Consequences of losing Ukraine are also massive. Ukraine had the best farmlands in the whole Europe. Losing that to Russia would be an absolute disaster not to mention the message it would send to the world.

Also don't forget about Dollar value, which is also tied to US allies relying on them to being their protectors. If allies realize they can't rely on US, dollar value will start dropping which will have huge implications on US economy.

Besides all of that, Russia already adapted and for the last few months is dominating Ukrainians. Ukraine is in such a desperate position right now, that Zelensky decided to change their commander in chief.

Destiny needs to mention 1st and 2nd world wars too. Isolationist policies didn't really do much in the end for most countries who wanted to stay neutral or just spend at home. Then when the war came to their door, they still had to upramp military spending except with more pressure on since the enemy had already started offensives.

How old is this debate? As of March 2nd this seems terribly uninformed and outdated. Ukraine is LOSING because of shell hunger and equipment shortage. US complacancy is costing lives daily, Europe also did not fullfil their pledges but at least are stepping up. They are buying 800.000 Artillery shells because the Front at a lot or places is crumbling under russian pressure. Europe also is ramping up military production not only because of Russia but also because of the prospect of another Trump presidency.

Edit: What I forgot to mention - this is one of the most shameful moments of the US Republican Party. How on earth are Democrats more hawkish? Playing political games on the back of the ukranian people. The Trump brainrot really took a toll on the Republicans.
