Eachine E58 720P Folding FPV Camera Drone Flight Test Review

Pros
- Folds up to a very compact size for easy transportability.
- 720p HD camera video is recorded directly to a micro SD card inserted into the quadcopter. This eliminates WiFi lag from the recorded video. The JY UFO app is used to start and stop this recording. The camera button on the controller is inoperative.
- Flight modes include altitude hold, headless mode, one key return, automatic takeoff, and automatic landing.
- Quadcopter starts descending to an automatic landing if flown out of range. Descent will continue if reception is regained, but may be stopped by pushing up on throttle stick.

Cons
- Can only record video directly to the onboard SD card. The app does not record the WiFi FPV video to your phone. This is the first WiFi FPV flier that I've seen without such capability. This may be a plus though as most WiFi video is laggy with much frame dropping.
- Two antennas on the controller are fake and are cosmetic only.
- Proprietary 3.7V 500mah battery. However battery can be charged by any micro USB cable.
- Phone holder can turn off your phone if it has on/off button its side. You may need to use spacers to prevent such.
- I experienced a drop out, but it may have been due to a poorly seated battery.

For the power button issue, most of these toy quads with wifi, you can flip the screen and use your phone with the power button facing down. My first drone was a toy one that was like that per default. First time I was going to fly I put my phone with the power button up and the picture was upside down, thats how I discovered that option. I have E58 as my second quad and I like it. Now I am waiting for my first Tiny7 that I will fly with goggles. =) Great review btw. =)

I used to buy cheap quads and was addicted to this channel...then I bought a DJI Phantom/Mavic and stopped having any trouble flying, no more lost drones. Mavic video is movie quality. I do miss the great commentary! This Mavic clone is a hoot...but we wont say Mavic (shhh).

As a word of advice to anyone who gets one of these drones - the landing tabs fall out extremely easy, so BEFORE your first flight with it, you should superglue or epoxy the landing tabs into the holes where they go. You should do the same with the propeller protectors, if you wish to use them. Also, contrary to what the guy said in this video, you CAN record video and photos directly to the phone, as long as you connect your phone's wifi to the drone.

The trick to almost all folding drones is always face them nose up, then front up, back down. Front legs fold out and up, back legs usually roll down and out. Easy way to avoid fumbling so you can debag and fly within a few seconds if you see something incredible happen that you want to film. No point carrying a camera with you if you can't use it nearly instantly.

For the type :-Camera is good. Flies reasonably well except for relatively short range. Not the cheapest, not the worst and not the best. Good review
