Living in Dumaguete area for 4 years now I have found it difficult to find a restaurant with better than a hit or miss score on food Sans Rizal has good cakes and coffee but on two visits have had to complain about food and never good to have to do this. First time few years ago my brocolli soup was sugar loaded to the point I could not eat and refused to pay for it. Second time recently I tried again with Filipina friend I ordered Chicken Cacciatoria an Italian dish that is so easy to cook but as I told the waiter 5 small pieces chicken in watery tomato sauce over spirali pasta is not it. I told waiter 8 key ingredients are missing and this is a bad joke tell the cook he is an idiot but don't believe me look up the recipe on the internet. I have no tolerance for rubbish food in a restaurant on the boulevard supposedly of good quality they have lost a lot of money as my family and friends avoid the place. I have yet to find a pizza in Dumaguete that is cooked enough has a good homemade sauce without sugar in it. And made from proper bread flour for the crust . Mozzarella genuine cheese not what is called pizza topping a cheaper fake cheese that so many places use. To find genuine salami made from pork not el cheapo made from beef in the Philippines .Good pizza needs imported Italian or Spanish tinned tomatoes for the sauce good USA hard bread flour for the crust imported anchovies Spanish or Italian all available here in supermarkets and Belcris and when it comes to seafood Philippines is not very good . I recommend any owner of a seafood restaurant here to visit Bangkok Thailand visit a Seafood Market restaurant that's the name of a good one and watch seafood cooked so much faster so much tastier it is an embarrassment here the cooks have no idea how slow or bad they really are . Probably why so few seafood restaurants are in the Philippines. I have tried so many places but never find the flavours of Thai cooking .Had a Thai seafood curry at Dumagetes most famous boulevard restaurant and found they had put honey in it my Filipina partner had to eat it as not edible for me they have lost so much money as vowed never to return. Had. Apple streusel at an Austrian restaurant with Filipina chef the photo on the menu looked good when it came it was slathered with chocolate sauce first time anywhere this has happened told waiter I am diabetic too much sugar the photo does not show sauce and this is not normal so take it away .I now question any food order as never know what to expect and managers not staff are to blame for this .
