The Scariest Night of My Life At A Haunted House.

Growing up in Southern California we had a real-life haunted house.
Vanderlips in Palos Verdes was the place we went for a right of passage type thing in high school. We all went there at night to see how close we could get to this haunted true crome house. This is my story and the history of this urban legend.

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying these sit down chats with you. I adore your usual content, of course. But these are so fun and frankly relaxing to watch. Appreciate all your hard work!

The scariest Holloween last year was having a kid come to my door dressed as the Liberty Mutual Guy.

These videos are my favorites that you do. I like the face to face, one on one type setting. Plus I can see for myself you're still doing well lol.

I’d never be able to stay in a haunted house. Yikes!

My best friend growing up had a brother in law who was an airline pilot. He lived in Torrance, and told us about the place—I think. Thanks for filling in several holes in the story.

Another story about the origin of an urban legend. On April 3, 1974, tornados tore thru Southern Indiana, and a few years later people started telling a story about a house being picked up and a self propelled combine being dropped into the basement, and the house being set back down. I thought that was B S because a self propelled combine is a really big piece of farm equipment that wouldn't fit in a basement. Many years later, I was having some lazer art done. The artist was retired from H U D, Housing and Urban Development, and he had worked that tornado disaster. He was shown a home that was picked up, or more accurately, leaned over enough to expose the basement, and a corn planter, a much smaller piece of farm equipment, was dumped into the basement. With much retelling, the corn planter grew into a self propelled combine.
