Don't burn out your LEDs! Learn how much resistance to add in series.
In this video tutorial we simulate an LED with a current limiting resistor.
So I'm just gonna drag an LED and drag it onto my workbench, and a resistor. Hook them up with a wire. Lets drag a voltage source on and make it a 5 V voltage source and hook up the wires. I'm going to add a couple of named nodes. Call this one A, and this one B just so I can visualize my output a little better later.
Then I go to my simulate tab and click on A and B so I can see what the value is at those nodes. Then click on the DC solver and see you have real values. I also want to see the current going into my LED here because that tells me how bright its gonna be, and I see I have about 28mA which is a bit too bright. Hit Esc to hop out of simulation mode, and lets make the resistor a little bigger. Let's make the resistor a little bigger. Then hit F5 to rerun the last simulation, and now its about 15 mA which is pretty good. And that's how you do it, that's how you simulate an LED with a current limiting resistor.
