Science isn't the truth? Really? Yes, really! Science is not the truth, science is a model. The problem is that all models are wrong. So then why do we have science? Because some models are useful, and science is definitely one of those models!

Love how thoughtful this video was; your explanation of the nature of scientific progress is refreshing. One of the reasons I dislike the turn of phrase “proven by science”; very little has been definitively proven by science. The more accurate idea is that many theories have gained masses of support (or in some cases, criticism) based on the results of scientific inquiry.

I’m so glad I found this!! So many people don’t understand how the scientific method works. This is evident especially when I’m debating people with faith based beliefs. Many will accuse me of having the same faith in science that they have in their god(s). To try and explain that we can’t be 100% sure of ANYTHING is such a challenge. I can’t wait to watch every one of the videos on this channel!!!

A great video, Clint, thank you for it. The fact how little we >know< for sure was a major surprise since I got involved with science and mathematical models. And it's always been very hard for me to simultaneously explain this to people and at the same time not to encourage "denying science" just because the models and theories might not be ideal

I just found this channel today and literally binged every single one of the videos lol. They're so good. I can say for sure that I learned something from each one of them even though none of the topics are uncommon or unknown to me. Can't wait to be in this journey and learn a lot more!

Also Clint! Clint! Can I request that you explain the concepts of forms, functions and biological roles in one of your future videos? I've met so many people who weren't sure of the differences between the latter two terms. I can't think of a better person to explain them other than you!
