So... you've picked up micro-services as almost a revolution that will change your life, only to find out that once delivered it's a spaghetti monster that is out there to get you? What if I'm here to tell you that everything that you were told about micro-services is completely wrong, and actually creates the next class of unwanted monoliths... aka distributed monoliths. Puzzled, confused? Good, if you want to understand all of this heresy... I invite you to join me on a quest through a labyrinth full of dangers to the ultimate prize: autonomy at scale.

At Gaming1 we consider our slicing of the landscape & teams, completely different than most organizations. We've adopted a combination of Theory of Constraints, (Reverse) Conway's Law, Domain Driven Design and Capability thinking from classical Enterprise Architecture, and applied that to create a modern, true business scalable Architecture. This is not purely at the application/component level, but actually applied to the full organisation, far outside of Technology too.

We'll not be live coding, however we'll be looking at simplistic & straightforward code to explain the basics on how we achieved that. All of this combined with a presentation that looks more like a rockband playing than a boring click-through Powerpoint... see you there!
