Scottie Barnes' future does not appear to be bleak by any means at this moment. For the Toronto Raptors rookie, there is no professional route that appears out of reach. So far, he's replied to every challenge and checked every box. Is he a superstar right now though? No, but, following a streak of amazing performances, including two 20-point games in his first six games.

Barnes has been performing like he was trying to prove something all those weeks. It was tough not to get caught up in the pre-game storyline of Barnes vs. the Orlando Magic rookie Jalen Suggs, who Toronto passed on in order to choose Barnes in last July's Draft. And so far, Scottie has absolutely delivered.

The Raptors made the correct decision. Remember when the Raptors debated whether they should take Barnes or Jalen Suggs with the No. 4 pick? While it is maybe too early, and I don't want to dismiss Suggs, I do believe Toronto is pleased with their decision.

Currently, Barnes leads all rookie scorers.

When you compare Barnes' first seven games to those of past Raptors like Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, and DeMar DeRozan in their rookie seasons, you get a fairly good image.

At 20 years old, Barnes managed to outscore every Raptors’ rookie legend from the past but the one and only Vince Carter, who was 2 years older than Scottie. Barnes is arguably the best rebounder. Barnes will need to maintain his current level of output in order to compete with Carter, but he's off to a good start.

He's been the finest rookie so far this season, and there's no doubt about that. Barnes outshined Suggs in that outing, leading his team to a very close win by one point, although he certainly didn’t stop here. In the Toronto Raptors vs. Indiana Pacers showdown, Scottie embraced his scoring talents once again.

Barnes is now Toronto's youngest player and also one of the most gifted. He has become the Raptors' go-to scorer.

The Toronto Raptors have gone from a team anticipated to tread water until Pascal Siakam returns from injury. and rookie phenom Scottie Barnes has been the key cause for this turnaround. In addition, Barnes had two 20-point, 10-rebound games on the road during that time period.

Barnes is the fifth player in NBA history.

The thing is, not only is Scottie Barnes already making history.

How good can they become with Barnes’ help?

With Scottie Barnes, the Raptors' fans have a lot of things to be happy about. All we need to see from the rookie is consistency, and who knows, maybe in a couple of years we will see Barnes participating in an MVP race.
And what is your opinion? Do you think that Scottie Barnes is a talented player and a future superstar? Do you think that the Toronto Raptors can reach the playoffs this year?

Barnes has all the tools to be great. He will have to develop hard work mentality and keep improving. Everything else will take care on it’s own. I hope raptors keep him happy. Masai has a good group of people who can pickup talent. They are really good at this.
