It’d be hilarious if this got a copyright strike.

This was one of the best mini documentaries i've seen in a long time! The first one minute hooked me straight away and the way you edited this and used sound captivated my attention until the very end! Amazing work and I'm excited to see more. Thank you for creating this.

"A man attending the exhibit tried to take a photo of a print of his photo of a photo of a print of a photo that he took" -I felt that
Also what a great video. Your storytelling abilities really came through. That smile at the end lol

I'm a commercial photographer, and think about this quite a bit. I call it "the formula".

In commercial work, our primary goal is to realize the Art Director's vision for how their brand should be represented. Period.
They pull images from other sources and create brief's and mood boards so us, the creators, can effectively and efficiently copy the same emotional response the Art Director has put together.

At its basic core, it's a formula.

I think one of the most accessible representations of this "formula" is in automotive ads, beverage photography, and the Instagram account @insta_repeat. Most, if not all the people who are featured in @insta_repeat are self-proclaimed creators, but they're just following each others formulas.

Personally, as someone who makes a living doing commercial photography, I don't think it's inherently wrong, there are only so many ways to peel an onion. Since digital and the information revolution, it was definitely inevitable for it to become more obvious.

This "formula" is nothing new either. Look at any car ad pre-digital and you'll notice just how many are shot outside, in a flat desert, at sunset. Or that can of (insert beverage here) shot at a low, kinda wide angle, rim lights, fake ice and sweat on the bottle/can, with a background mirroring the color of the label.

I really....really want to take photographs of Richard Princes' photographs that he took of others photographs forget it.

Theres a difference between being a psychopath (Richard prince)
and standing in the shoulders of giants, such as the job you're doing.

I'm a failed scientists but I can tell you, everything is built on axioms, even Einstein and Euler stood on the shoulders of the giants before them.

The real question is: are you advancing the reach and scope of human consciousness, for most of us the answer is often no or very little, you rarely get a mind that makes such a huge leap as Newton's for instance. But each grain of sand of technological, moral and artistic advancement is incredibly valuable.

We just like (as humans) the hero's journey too much, Neil Armstrong landed in the moon and everyone remembers him, but who knows about the little engineer who actually made the computer that guided the rocket? Just a thought.

This was a very interesting video. I was not expecting it to be so serious. Really enjoyed the story.

You’re funny, serious at the same time and I formative, you’re making things so serious and I think it’s an art whether it’s a creative or a curator

I mean I guess you're right. the new A7c is not bad. It's dynamic range could be better, but would you really prefer it over the A7iii?

Great point. Unfortunately, people have been stealing art for centuries.

What's really staggering is how seven people (thus far) managed to dislike this video. Your content is getting more and more special at every upload. I subscribe to an unhealthy amount of filmmakers on YouTube. I rarely learn so much as I do here.

I really like your approach in content creating. Also your storytelling abilities shine bright. Thank you for your videos.
