Appreciate the video, but you were going a little too fast, and I couldn't hear some of the numbers (thank God for closed caption). Still nice walk through of the leftovers. Also good to know how Mecum's staff treat sellers when cameras aren't on them, that tells me a little something about their business practices.

Are the prices your saying what would buy the car or is it what the bid went to without hitting the reserve? Just because the bids were low at one doesnt mean the market collapsed. We had some real estate for sale at auction and it didnt meet reserve, a month later we got offers more than the reserve. With that said some of the owners apparently have no idea what their cars are actually worth.

I didn't see any gold plating. If they were I still would not pay what they asking / bid price. It's a car. Paint fades, rubber cracks, fabric tears, wires short, metal rusts, water corrodes, engines fail/seize whether you use them or not. I don't get it.

It's obvious that the markets are starting to go on a downward spiral. People are more financially frugal and wising up. Unfortunately these sellers are still in full pre-pandemic cope mode. They should get what they still can.

If you didn't get the bid you wanted at Monterey, your car isn't worth what you think it is. Most of those cars on this clip are mediocre for their make and model. If someone offers you 85k for a stinking bronco...take it! It's a bronco! They made shit loads of them. No matter how unique yours is, it's still a bronco. If you get offered 30k for a lousy 70s monte carlo....take it! Those things were piles of shit in the 70s and they're piles of shit now. These sellers are stuck on stupid. It's lile mk4 supra owners who want 100k for a car with 100k miles on it with an automatic transmission or a 5 speed manual. That's not a 100k car. You need the one with the 6 speed german manual tranny and it needs to be low miles.
