I just woke up from a dream in which the lady at the driver's license counter asked me my name, and I started singing this to her. She loved it. What a great song!

In 1962, I was a junior in high school. I had a girlfriend whose real name was, yes, Mary Sue. I've never seen nor heard from her after we graduated. I hope she had a great life.

Its sad that the late 50's-early 60's had to end. We just dont make music, cars, movies, anything like we used to anymore. This was music at its finest hour.

My sister just passed away. ♥ We were 15 months apart in age. She was 73. This was our signature song at family gatherings and we even sang it at a public event. She did the melody and I the harmony. My mom and two younger sisters loved listening to us sing this great song with our spontaneous "moves." This song will always be special to our family.

Haven't heard this song for 50 yrs and all of a sudden the lyrics come to me, so I came here to check it out and I remembered 90% of the lyrics. Memories are funny things, sort of like a libraries in your head.

Timeless. I played it to my 20 year old daughter and she liked it immediately.

Oh how wish it would be possible to go back to 1962. I was 13 then at home without a care in the in the world with Parents and siblings.
My 3 older brothers would play this lovely song among many others. I'm 71 now no Parents no siblings.
2020 is something that I never thought would be like this with the Covid-19 GOD BLESS us all everyone.

We have a 10 month old puppy. Throughout the day I’ll ask her, “What’s your name?” Several days ago my husband suddenly played this song. It’s now my anthem. She’s mesmerized when it plays, after hearing me for months lovingly ask, “What’s your name?”

In our 70s… there’s no music like this today, music that captures so much emotion in simplistic uncomplicated fashion. Brings back the best memories. The 60s were the best years of my life.

I remember in the summer of 69 just bought my first guitar " like a song " but true, working at a golf club . Standing on a porch with a friend who just got back from Vietnam and I I enlisted and volunteered for Vietnam at the ripe young age of 18 "kid" this song was playing and as I sang what's your name, she said Beverly. She really got me through a lot of hell with her perfume letters that I sniffed and kept under my sweat filled jungle shirt that I prayed the vc and nva wouldn't smell, from my sweat and blood and stink I survived, thank you Bev.

heard it on the radio at the barber shop yesterday, for the first time in many years: sounds just as good today as back in the early 1960s. just beautiful...

Wishing there was still good music like this. No love in today's "music". Tears.

This song reminds me of my mother. This used to be one of her jams when she used to clean the house. She used to slow drag with me and I would just look up at her and smile. She’s now suffering from dementia. It’s hard to hear these songs but it makes me cherish those memories with her.
