Neglected Exercise

This series of exercises, which you may need to remember, will still benefit you in and out of the gym. Today's exercise is the Crossover Step Up

What it is: it's a step up where you cross over your front leg to add rotation and a different angle to target your glutes.

How it helps: When training, hip rotation is essential for hip and lower back health while strengthening muscle imbalances on each side.

How to do it:

Crossover your closest leg to the bench and place your lead foot on the box with your toes pointed forward.

Push through your lead foot to stand up. Think of driving your glutes forward into hip extension as you stand up.

Once your knee is extended, place the other foot on the box, balance one leg, or drive your non-working leg into a high knee.

Step down slowly with the non-lead leg reset and repeat.

Tips: When finishing your step up, you can put your non-working foot down for balance or drive it into a high knee for a challenge. When reversing his exercise, do it with control.

When you are ready, there are two ways to start with Outback Performance.

If you live or work near my gym, message me in person to meet there. We can discuss your goals and the best exercises, develop a four-week customized plan, and have a free assessment.

If you are still waiting to stop in or don't live nearby, message me by phone, and we can chat for 30 minutes and develop a customized plan for you that way. We would do everything at my gym, and you don't need to drive by to see me. This option is designed to accommodate your busy schedule and distance.
