How to Unlock the Mage and Sorcerer Maister Skills in Dragon's Dogma 2 (Grimoire Book Locations)

This is a complete guide for unlocking the Maister Skills for Sorcerer and Mage. You'll earn the Meteroron spell, the Celestian Paean spell, and the Maelstrom spell. These rewards come from the Spellbound quest and the Sorcerer's Appraisal quest, which require you to collect 5 Grimoire Books from around the game.

Apologies for getting the thing wrong about how to start Myrddin’s quest. The easiest way to trigger it to start is by wearing the Courtly Attire. I had no idea that’s what it was! Shoutout to all of the great tips and good info in the comments. ❤

The Turquoise Ring helps with Myrdinns quest. I didn't have the Coutrly Tunic, and so wasn't able to give him the books first because he wouldn't open the door for me. So I did Trysha's SpellBound quest first. After I got the Courtly Tunic, I went to Myrdinns to give him the spells, but after some dialogue, he found out I helped Trysha learn magic and he got upset because he's her father. He refused to teach me the meister spell for sorcerer, but a second quest option appeared telling me to find a way to make up with Myrdinn. I rested for a day, got the Turquoise Ring and went to talk to Myrdinn. He sees I have the ring in my inventory (not equipped) and asks me to give him time to think about the situation. After resting another day, I went back and he gave me the meister spell and the other quest rewards. Hope this helps!

do NOT need all 5 to still do this. If you gave the first tome to the guy don't fret! Just follow this guide and only do the 4 and it all works out! So glad lol!!!

If you're having a hard time getting the quest from myrddin, wear the courtly attire. One of the npcs mentions he only speaks to those who have a noble appearance.

Nations Death Knell book can also be obtained by beating a sorcerer in a waterfall cave right next to Ultramarine Waterfall which is North East of the Borderwatch Outpost.

you can also use soporific arrow from magick archer to put trysha to sleep rather than wait for her to get exhausted, (two to three arrows) im sure other forms of sleep application works too im just not sure what other ones exist in the game
side note the reason Eini died is likely because she was attacked by a cyclops where she stands up by the statue on the cliffs edge. my portcrystal was there and when i teleported in she was getting smacked on by one

Do not pick up the death knell from the battle ground till you complete the quest there as the npc needs it before ringing a bell. also just hug the wall no need to go anywhere near the dragon.

Cheers for the quality! Also in case not aware, the regal chest (which spawns a Wight upon opening) on top floor overlooking the Chimera in Waterfall Cave contains both "Howling Blizzard" and "Nations Death Kneel" :>

You don't need to give the full five tomes to complete the quest. 4 worked for me but i've heard 3 works as well,

Howling Blzzard and Nation's Death Knell can also be found in the Waterfall Cave in Northern Vermund. Since there are 2 Nation's Death Knell maybe there are 2 copies of each of them.

Got the book from the Magistrate, had to go start the little girl’s quest. After speaking with her, got the quest, went back to the library under the slums, and he handed it right over. Remember to make forgeries of EACH book before turning them in to the girl!

Northeast (↗️) of Borderwatch Outpost there is a cave called Waterfall Cave. It’s huge. Inside you can find in the same chest a copy of Nation’s Death Knell and Howling Blizzard.

It’s interesting how npcs die without you knowing about it. I recently went to the morgue area in Battahl and noticed the blacksmith apprentice lady that helps with the blade quest died at some point. No clue how but I brought her back with a wake stone and now she’s obsessed with my character and will follower her around like a puppy dog every time I go the the city lol.

It got me curious so I went one in Vermund and apparently Sven died at some point as well? Brought him back too but it’s neat that he could die as well.

LISTEN: If Trysha dies, you can still get the scrolls by being in the Courtly tunic and breeches and giving both grandparents flowers over a period of time. I just did it and got both scrolls.
