Slaves were neither allowed to write, nor learn how to read. So how would this work? Make it make sense, Mississippi.

This is a perfect example why they rejected "1619 project" They want to tell the history of slavery so it can be watered down.

Every student should have turned in a blank paper because slaves were not allowed to read or write.

If most slaves couldn't write or weren't allowed to read or write. It should be illegal for mzungus to teach our children. It's over.

It was against the law to even teach slaves how to read and write. Usually the person that did it was severely punished especially if it was a free Black person.

It is just so demonic how badly these people want to rewind back to the plantation days. Too many of *them* will NEVER accept that we're just as human as them 🙄😤😡

I can attest to how white teachers go "off book" when it comes to Black History in a predominately white school. I still remember in the 8th grade reading "Of Mice and Men" and being the only black student, I was told to read the black character "Crooks". I would read and the teacher would stop me for using proper English. For example: I'd read a line stating "over there" but she would say "No. Say 'oba dere'." And this is how the educational system creates a villain! 😡

It's a total disrespect and a lack of regard for those that were sold in slavery and beaten and forced to be a slave for over 550 years. 👎🏼🥴👺🔥💲🤬🔊this is why every parent should be concerned about the type of school they put their children in because you can be dealing with people that is insensitive to your struggles and your suffering which is wrong ‼️💯🤐🤔🤦🏻‍♀️👎🏼🤬🤷🏼‍♀️ I see this teacher should be fired

Whenever the Mzungu says "Why don't you let go of slavery?" Just reply, "Because YOU won't let it go".

I agree with you we need our own schools. We have been abused in their school system.

You don’t have to pretend to be a slave to understand our pain, just give us our reparations, which is highly deserved and pass due 🐝1

Phil, I'm sure you saw that story of the young black child being the victim of a hate crime in Plano, Tx.

If it was my child in that classroom I can tell you my child would have not been writing a letter I would have been writing the letter and believe me I would have written them a letter that they would never forget.

I'm writing this letter in secrecy because if the Mzungu's find out that I can read and write I will be beaten and tortured. I secretly have to put my letter in the outgoing mailbox because it is forbidden for me to touch it. Also these chains just allow me to get that far. 🤫 Quite or they'll hear me.
☹️🤦🏾‍♂️

Family please find other alternatives if you can when it comes to letting these wicked people indoctrinate your children. It's been time.

How about having the kids to write from the viewpoint of a woman being raped?

Wonder if THAT would be outrageous to them?

I am willing to bet that the teacher who came up with this assignment was a liberal Caucasian Karen who in her mind actually thought that this would be a good idea?
