Huge Changes are Coming to Oldschool Runescape in 2024! [OSRS]

Its finally here! the winter summit has finally revealed all of the major new content updates coming in the first half of 2024. The summit has revealed tones of exciting new content.

From new quests, new bosses to a brand new way to play the game, this summut has a bit for everyone. New info on sailing, an HD plugin and much much more.

as an architecture and geography nerd, I am SO EXCITED for varlamore!! I got so excited when I saw the map, the central city with surrounding farms, and the AQUADUCT!! I especially appreciate all the red painted columns, not many folks know this but greco-roman marble sculptures were usually painted bright colors, the paint was just degraded off them over time (or worse, removed by people before artifact conservation standards existed).

Also super excited for a lower level boss, I've had zero interest in bosses since it seems like they're all for high levels and I've never made it that far, but a rat king seems a lot less intimidating to try!

AND super excited for the HD lighting/post processing, osrs's graphics flipped around to looking like a modern low poly game, it looks great and I hope it'll draw in new players too! :)

sailing is going to be a huge opportunity for future content, island raids, islands with slayer monsters/bosses, man new items, im just so excited for the future, While Guthix Sleeps and the new Prayer system is the MOST EXCITED ive been in a LONG TIME, and i cant wait to see what else they bring during this Summer Summit!

All of these other than scurius, varlamore p1 and eventual release of sailing are all currently being polled and have not been made official yet and won't be official until the poll closes on January 26th.
While Guthix Sleeps, Defender of Varrock, the wilderness changes to elder chaos druids and rework of various wildy content, the herblore activity in varlamore p2 AND the varlamore group boss are all UNCONFIRMED.

IF you like these ideas, you NEED to vote now before January 26th, 2024, or they might not make it into the game!

Sailing feels more a progressive skill than just higher level items like Herblore or Construction. Expands, that's an interesting take to expanding on your other skillsets with each level bracket low or high youre at.

Hope it swims smooth, new skills and team gets confident releasing skills like ol early 00's scape.

I normally stay away from buying from a clip inside a preview, but I went and bought inquisitor. If it's not a thing in the colluseum, they mentioned they want to bring more crush weakness in-game, and when they rebalance NPC's melee defence they will certainly work crush in (that's probably what's causing melee defence rework).

Im getting King Skeletal Wyvern vibes for the new group boss on the mountain. Going off "not humanoid", being on top of an icy mountain path and no boss variant of SW as far as I know (vorkath making a dragon seem less likely, ice troll king from Fremmenik Isles also makes less likely)

I'll be honest, I want absolutely nothing to do with any HD features Jagex releases for OSRS. If I want HD, I'll either use 117's plugin or play RS3.

I'm just glad we'll be able to switch between HD and SD at will.
