“Jesus wept” is not only the shortest verse in the Bible, but it’s also one of the most profound. Those two words are some of the most significant in all of Scripture because of what they tell us about the character of our God and the heart of our Savior. If you’re going through the “valley of the shadow of death,” watch this video to hear Steven Curtis Chapman, the most awarded artist in Christian music history, share insights about how this verse comforted him when he and his family entered their moment of deepest grief.

Written and presented by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Let the world be under the shade of God's care and mercy as the heat of this world's issues continue to intensify. Let God cover us as he sets us besides streams of living water in his Holy Spirit. Work in us today Lord as we learn to work for you. In Jesus name Amen.

Thank You ODB for this message that speaks volumes of God's unconditional love for us. Jesus loves us so much that He came and experienced all the emotions we experience. He knows what we go through on a daily basis. God keeps track of all our tears and puts them in a bottle and one day He will wipe all our tears away. May the grace, peace and comfort of the Lord Jesus Christ be with everyone. Amen.

The humility of Jesus. Often I forget it when I'm suffering but when I remember it it comforts me. He feels what I feel and sees me, loves me. That gives me a bit of hope in trouble.

also when we read the scriptures of righteous men having their family members taken away, like Job, Aaron, Ezekiel.... they do the opposite of you. FOR EXAMPLE...

Leviticus 10:6

6 Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, “Do not let your hair become unkempt and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the LORD will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the Israelites, may mourn for those the LORD has destroyed by fire

ANOTHER RIGHTEOUS EXAMPLE OPPOSITE OF YOU...

EZEKIEL 24:15
15 Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 16 “Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, nor shall your tears run down. 17 Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind your turban on your head, and put your sandals on your feet; do not cover your [a]lips, and do not eat man’s bread of sorrow.”

LASTLY,
Psalms 23:4 is a time period when David was not King and he was doing what? Running from other MEN trying to kill him! Again, the "valley of the shadow of death" is WHEN MAN IS PURSUING YOU DAILY, like Negroes are pursued and killed daily in this country. there is not a day that goes by where a Negro is MURDERED in this country. Furthermore verse 5 says thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies... AGAIN HAMMERING IN THE CONTEXT ABOUT DAVID BEING PURSUED BY ENEMIES... NOT A SPIRITUAL BEING... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my "LIFE" NOT DEATH. Meaning hes alive and living and hes got enemies who are also alive and living!

YOU SEE....
When YHWH ends a life, it's different from when MAN takes a life. The Israelites and Christ were consistently persecuted and subjected to OTHER NATIONS who hung and killed them. Stop comparing the valley of the shadow of death, which is in the context of "MEN" pursuing your life, as opposed to YHWH taking a life.

STOP TAKING THE BIBLE OUT OF CONTEXT.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. 26And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Does not verse 35 come AFTER verse 25 & 26?

Furthermore...
Jhn 11:40
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Jesus reiterated the fact that he asked her about her belief already, referring to verse 26, showing he did ask her about her faith before he wept.

Steven, you didn't read THE CHAPTER, and just cherry picked one verse out of context which so many christians do! Christ actually did ask Martha if she believed before he just wept. Come on, i'm glad i've read the bible for my self and KNOW IT. Yes he wept, but he checked Martha and her faith before doing so! Which is the EXACT opposite of what you just said the CHRIST did.

lastly, shame on "Our Daily Bread" which promotes biblical study not to correct this grave error in a video they paid for.
