My older sister used to listen to this song, it used to be one of her favorite songs too. She graduated year 2007 and Everytime I hear this song I still remember swimming in my pool in the back yard while this bumped on our old little stereo set. I had the biggest crush on her best friend. She was this beautiful short little puerto rican girl named Sam. She had the most beautiful smile and the prettiest brown eyes. They both would listen to this song all the time and I can still remember the day I heard them say what the name of this song was. Just swimming in the pool drinking tea. It was the only thing we really had because my mom and dad didn't really get kool aid all the time. We swam from noon till the sun went down and a while into the night because our pool had a light in it. We loved the way the light would flicker across our wall we would stare for hours just jaming to incubus, nirvana, whatever cds they had. We would go through this album multiple times. It's funny Jackie, my older sister, had never seen the ocean before and always wanted too. My aunt had promised her she would take her to California when she was a little girl but she worked as a psychiatrist and was always busy and never did. Needless to say Jackie was pretty disappointed, and even held a bit of a grudge towards her ever since. Jackie was always really big on "keeping your word". I am too I mean, if you say you're going to do something than you should do it. She still loved her though. Anyways she passed away in 2012 and my life has never been the same since. I'll often find myself feeling a little down and get the sudden craving to listen to her music but this one especially in particular. She was 23 when she passed away and I was only 16, just going into my first year of high school. I'm 24 now with a baby girl on the way, and I've been to California a bunch of times. It doesn't feel as good as I thought it would though.. I still love the ocean though and incubus... I try to hold onto the good things because it's the little things that make me happy. I still have one of her jackets I used to borrow from her all the time as a kid. I know I was her little brother, but I really looked up to her. I miss you Jackie and I love you, and I hope when it's my time we get to see each other again like I do in my dreams. If you've gotten this far thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day. After listening to this song, I feel incredibly good and in complete peace. Sweet harmony and pure happiness comes out of it. Incubus was my favorite group as a kid. And today when I keep listening with the same emotion, I know Incubus will be my favorite group for life!...

I dated a guy who is a professional drummer and we would play loads of music for each other while together.
I put this on and was drumming on my lap to the beat, fills, and riffs, and I *distinctly* remember him saying he never sees non-drummers notice the percussion first and foremost in music. He seemed impressed and I found it really flattering, but I definitely thought it was important to say “it’s hard not to notice it. It flows so perfectly.” There’s something so fluid and organic about this song.

Last month I was giving my 6 and a half year old a bath and he requested music so I tried putting on some Final Fantasy orchestral because I had quite a headache. He immediately corrects me "no I meant rock and roll music" so when I thought of something to still be nice to my headache and that I also knew didn't have curse words this was the first song to pop in my head. I put it on and he started bopping his head while he played with his sharks, if that wasn't a core memory for him it definitely was for me. Growing up my older sister played this album so much it started chipping and became unplayable and even though her and I aren't as close anymore I had a lot of good memories with this album and now I have a whole new amazing memory tied to this song. I'm leaving this comment so hopefully years in the future I'll be able to come back and find it to show my beautiful boy how much that little moment meant to me. ❤
