The other no touch no space rule for the roulette is you have to get that defender close enough that you almost spin off of their body to get the space. I think I’ve used this good piece of technique at least a dozen times in actual games and I’m not a very pacey player so it often requires being able to get so close that they are damn near forced to make some kind of tackle, so the opportunity to make the roulette work is often off a long first touch when you’re chasing down a ball and you need some quick footwork to either get a foul or if the defender doesn’t follow through the tackle, to pull away. I’m not so sure I would attempt it if I have been controlling the ball for longer than a couple of touches unless I attempted to knock the ball past the defender and I chase it down.

Instead of that u can do a drag back spin directly which is like a roulette but it goes in one way diagonally but after the roulette is complete you're going in a different direction with momentum good for a winger

Other oportunity is when the defender is not in your centre, so you do the roulette to the oposite side he is dislocated...
