According to Russ Connor's BG discography, "Benny Goodman - Listen to His Legacy", this performance aired on Eddie Cantor's radio program, with Rudy Vallee hosting while Cantor was on vacation. It was issued on what was likely a bootleg label LP named "Aircheck". This is a record I don't have; so, thanks very much for posting it. It's a rendering of Edgar Sampson's tune unlike anything I can recall hearing. A real gem!

Dave was hired following Gene leaving the orchestra [this was a mere three months after Benny’s historic (and triumphant) Carnegie Hall concert.]
