We stayed near the Olympic Park and was great to get out of the tourist areas at the end of the day. We'd ride the tube in and uber back at night. We found that it was easy to get the locals to talk to us by simply politely asking a question. Something like, "Excuse me, we're visiting from America, can you please tell us where the little grocery store is around here?" That would almost always cause people to respond with something like, "Oh welcome! Where in the US are you visiting from?" The locals were super nice. Thanks for all the videos BTW. Very helpful.

The three area's you have picked are some of the most expensive area's of London! The Walworth area of London is worth a visit! There you will find proper Londoners! (Not Cockneys) Arments a great pie & mash shop as well!

For my recent visit to London I stayed in two different areas, one Southwark and the other Kensington. I really liked both.

Stayed in Kensington and roamed around Notting Hill quite a bit. That’s definitely where I ran into the locals—I loved it. Will always stay there when I’m visiting!

Notting hill/Kensington perfect if you wanna be somewhere picturesque, how you see in the films. Shoreditch/brick lane/Clapham/Camden if you wanna be somewhere more hip 😎

First trip to London we stayed in Notting Hill and it was perfect for that trip as it was quiet but just a quick trip into the more touristy parts. I have since stayed in Earls Court which I find to be just delightful and a bit more convenient if taking the tube to and from Heathrow. I also enjoyed that I could just walk to the museum quarter. Next time I visit I would like to stay in Shoreditch to experience more of the east side.

Shoreditch is even to cool for most of the Londoners, mostly overpriced bars & restaurants .
Check out areas like West Kensington, Islington, Kilburn & Clapham .

I LOVE Kensington! I’ve stayed there twice and it’s so pretty and I liked being close to some museums but still easy to hop on the tube and get down town. Great recommendations!

Absolutely love the Kensington area. Even the Double Tree near the South Kensington Underground station is excellent. Great restaurants and pubs and an awesome area to just walk around in!!

Great video and info! ;) We stayed in Kensington during our trip in September 2018! We rented a flat through VRBO and it was located off Kensington High Street & Church Street. Kensington Palace and Hyde Park were just a quick little walk a street over from us ... WE LOVED THE AREA!!! Transportation was so easy with the tube being a short walk and lots of bus stops available too. Notting Hill Tube as well as Kensington High Street were both within walking distance (less than 5 minutes). Lots of great places to eat, pubs, shopping in this area as well as Whole Foods Market too. I think next visit we might stay in this area again or even try one of the areas suggested by you in your great video - thanks! ♥

Why isn't Greenwich mentioned at all? Or even Dulwich?

I stayed in Earls Court and Greenwich once, both were very nice. Also stayed near Regents Park before, Shepard's Bush near the Olympia for when I go to events there and The Strand which was super expensive but nice

I know I'm coming in very late, but a few years ago we rented a flat in Bloomsbury and loved it. It's on the Piccadilly line, quiet, but with easy shopping and eating nearby. If I ever moved to London, that would be a spot I'd highly consider. We will be there next month and staying in that same area. Sadly, the VRBO we stayed at before is no longer for rent. Great area.

I think Pimlico looks like Kensington but might be a bit less expensive. I'm happy to stay in either. Attractive, not super crowded, quiet, but just a short ride to main attractions.
