The EVA cushioning outsole makes them super lightweight but also makes them not especially grippy or flexible, so they're definitely not equivalent to a TEVA type sports sandal. That said, they're much comfier more supportive and a better walking sandal than those super flat hard sandals that are so popular now! The velcro over the toes and ankle make them easy to get the perfect fit, as well.
