Magpie Teasing Cat.

This short video is of a magpie teasing a cat in the garden of my old house.
I thought this was the only footage I had. But I recently came across the full footage I shot of this encounter between the magpie and cat, while going through the files I managed to recover off the old dead hard drive from my old laptop.
So I will be uploading that in the near future and leaving a link in a pinned comment below.
This was filmed back in 2018.

Pretty sure this was the same bird teasing my kitty in the window the other day. 🤣 I wouldn't believe a bird was messing with my cat.

The Pie is more intelligent than the cat, for no Pie bothers a dog. A German Sheperd for instance, no Pie would herass it. They know dogs are not very interested in Pies. Dogs might find it fun to chase them off the grass, but not more.

i swear i spit my food out laughing when the cat finally comes down off his cat high and realizes a magpie is 10 inches from him. Priceless

Meine Katze hat auch immer mit den 2 Elstern gespielt im Garten.
Sie hat extra etwas Futter über gelassen um sie an zu locken.
Als sie dann da waren ging es los genau wie im Video.
Das Lachen der Elstern klang immer so als würden sie sagen: ätsch du kriegst mich nicht ich kann fliegen.
Im März ist dann meine Katze verstorben und die Tiere kamen noch Wochen lang um sie zu suchen.

be careful! I've seen barn swallows swoop down and tease too...and sometimes lose!

here is what is happening. they are hunting each other. birds sometimes kill and eat mice by grabbing them by the tail, flying high into the sky, and dropping them to their death. the bird is a bit confused and thinks the cat is a large mouse, so its trying to sneak up behind the cat and grab its tail to fly away. but then the bird gets spooked because the cat is pretty big.
