Just got one and I have to say, it’s by far the best sounding and best playing guitar ever!!! I absolutely LOVE it!!!

I bought this guitar and I am very happy with it. It has its own unique voice as does my Martin 00028 and my Martin D18. The most important thing about a guitar is obviously playability and tone. The Taylor has a very comfortable neck and is a fun guitar to play. It’s pick up sounds fine through my loud box mini and it’s layered back and sides make it both structurally sturdy and less prone to problems related to climate. All of this with only a relatively slight sacrifice in the complexity of a solid back and sides. I like it so much I bought the GS mini as well.

Sounds great! I didn't know Koa was such a good-sounding wood for the top of a guitar.

Think I’m about to pull the trigger on one soon....if it’s going to sound like *that*, I’d be ecstatic!

I have this guitar, and I also have a Takamine EAN10CX.
Now the Takamine, I have owned, and played a lot, just gets better, and better. (and battered)
This Taylor is stunning, but at the moment, I prefer my Takamine.
I'm not one for selling guitars, but If I buy a guitar, it's with me for life (and I love this Taylor).
I"m pretty sure, with time, and age, the Taylor will deliver.
Overall, I love it.... Even if that means, just staring at it... Stunning!!!

I bought one a couple of weeks ago and I am astounded at its build quality, playability and tone. Makes my Yamaha CPX 900 sound dull and lifeless by comparison. The best £1500 I've spent in a long time.

I just picked one of these up in 2023. I tried Martin, Gibson, Larivee and other Taylor's in this price range, but this koa model just stood out for its unique warm tone and character. The all-solid 300 series does sound better/brighter, but I played the 224ce K DLX next to the 314ce for half an hour, and the difference, for me at least, just wasn't worth the extra $500 (in Canada). I'm coming from the classic spruce & rosewood sound of my Guild F-130R CE so the koa is a really nice alternative sound to add to my arsenal. Also worth pointing out that the fit and finish is fantastic, and you get a really beautiful hard case as well. I have no regrets. It's an absolute work of art, and to be able to say that about something that is not all-solid wood and is made in Mexico, just shows how far guitars have come, and the quality that Taylor adheres to.

Do you recommend more the 224CE k dlx or the 214ce k dlx? Thank you

I don’t get the 1 11/16 string spacing? Just buy a dreadnought cause finger style just gets choked up on that narrow fretboard. I can hear the string thudding as his fingers are getting choked between the strings on the finger style part

What about the pickup? I hear a real mix of reviews on this Taylor ES2? Clearly you’re mic’ing the guitar vs plugging it in, which tells me something!

It’s listed for $1599 and it’s laminated?

It sounds like a 1000 guitar or less. Because it's tinny sounding.
