They were totally setting up Cillian Murphy’s character to be a smart and cunning villain in a sequel. We were robbed. This will probably be the most heartbreaking film cancellation I’ll ever witness.

I remember watching the movie in theater for the first time, and losing my mind when Cilian Murphy is revealed as Ed Dillinger, which I assumed was related to the guy who stole ENCOM from Kevin Flynn in the original TRON movie. I had high hopes for a bitter confrontation between Ed and Sam for ENCOM control. A much tastier conflict, and a nice setup for a sequel. Not ready to let go of a potential sequel.

It's nice to see the attention to detail, although I don't understand why he is logged in as root.

In the virtual world on Encoms servers those minutes of Sam hacking the OS and Dillinger shutting it down propably played out like a whole decade spanning WW3 scenario

Given that this is the universe of Tron, you guys need to remember that there now exists a little program dude in the Encom server who looks like Sam and whose entire purpose is to trigger that dog gif. I wonder whether this guy would have a prankster personality or an existential crisis about this.
Also Dillinger Jr. derezzed him at the end... dude fell in the line of duty....

It would’ve been neat if there was a short film that showed what was happening inside the Encom system while Sam was hacking into it.
