How I Use BASEMAP to hunt ELK

I finally got base maps it is nice after hunting 46+ years without any type of tech . I like it however the only thing it needs is better hunt zone unit boundaries like when I hunt Idaho I can’t see all well defined hunt zones.. is onx better with hunt zone boundaries does anyone know

Basemap imagery is great, but can you save maps to use offline when there is no cell service like you can with OnX? Also I heard Basemap won't rotate to direction you are facing if wanting to do so? If those features are available for Basemap, then I would go for it. However the price isn't bad for the quality of the imagery alone.

Made the switch myself couple months ago. Satellite imagery for the area I hunt is so much better than onx. Also clarity when zoomed in is noticeably better. Cost and quality go great together in my book!

I purchased the pro version and I definitely like the clarity of the maps and it’s simplicity. I just don’t like how the map doesn’t auto rotate to the direction you’re facing. When you’re up early in the dark and chasing those bugles, it’s really hard to figure out which direction your facing when you can’t see the landmarks in front of you. On OnX, I double tap the icon and it auto rotates to the exact direction I’m facing.

I switched from on x in the spring and all I can’t say is that is the best decision I have made in a while.

Questions: Does Basemap show the same sort of detail as displayed in the beginning of the video? Does it also show unit boundaries?

I just got base maps for Idaho and am unable to figure the big game units? Got any pointers

Basemap is 1 tweak of the ‘my location’ (ability to choose between the arrow always pointing to the top of the phone - map moves around you - or as it is now with arrow pointing compass direction and you move around the map when navigating) away from burying that other app. The other app has this ability. Otherwise I far prefer Basemap.

I did the swap from onx a few months ago. More states for the same price. And in my opinion its a more user friendly interface
