World's tallest Shiva lingam | Chenkal Maheswaram Temple Trivandrum Kerala

World's tallest shiva lingam is situated at Chenkal Maheswaram Temple near Neyyatinkara Trivandrum. This Mahashivalangam is 111 feet tall. This is now part of Asian book of records and it is expected to make entry in to Limca book of records and Guinness book of records soon!
There is an entry fee of 100 rs per head for entering inside Shivalingam. Photography is restricted inside the Shivalingam and mobiles, bags etc should be kept in cloak room before entering.
Inside Shivalinga there are 8 floors which represents 8 mandapas, in which topmost represent Kailasam. There are 108 shivalingams inside it which is built from special rocks of Mahabalipuram.

Chenkal Maheswaram temple is 25 KM from Trivandrum city and can be accessed from Trivandrum-Kannyakumari National highway from Neyyatinkara or Udiyankulangara.
