The problem w/ this line of reasoning, that Swinney doesn't think there are players in the portal better than who he has currently on his roster, is that the top programs in the country, w/ the best players and recruits in the country on their rosters, are finding players in the portal who contribute significantly to their programs. Look at Alabama and Georgia and the players they've brought in to help them. The players are there. It's a matter of bringing them in and coaching them up.

You guys are using weird arguments. Even if all that is true, that just means Dabo doesn't know how to use the portal. Either because he doesn't know how to evaluate seasoned talent or because he can't compete with teams like Georgia. So, that doesn't change anything: the problem is still Dabo

I applaud Dabo for what he's doing. These boys were recruited to play college football and receive free education, room, and board. NIL and the transfer portal have ruined college sports. Dabo has the right philosophy; he just isn't getting good enough players. In the NFL, Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson played for contracts, just like the NIL kids, and they ruined their teams while Tom Brady took pay cuts and won nine championships.
