On this week's show, Prof. Wolff presents updates on Alabama miners' strike, how China's focus on reducing inequality affects competition with the US, and the economics of the "right to repair" consumers' movement in the US. The second half of the show features an interview with investigative reporter Bob Hennelly, author of Stuck Nation: Can the United States Change Course on Our History of Choosing Profits Over People?

I own a John Deere tractor. It cost about $10 to change the oil. I need a new tractor. John Deere has changed their tractors so that you cannot change the oil yourself. Now you must buy a special “oil in a canister” if you want to change the oil. The cost of the canister $50. each time you change the oil.

For all of the innovation capitalism claims ownership of, it is remarkable how little progress has actually been made. Our priorities are so screwed up.🤮

In Spain governments and mining corporations learned prettt quickly its not a great idea to fuck miners over considering they have access to explosives.

Fun fact: Israel started receiving 75% of their oil from Iraq after 9/11, as well as the US fighting all their wars. It's almost like 9/11 benefited Israel more than anyone else...

I think it's really sad, most health workers are not given a suitable financially package given the conditions attached to the job😡😡 it really pisses me off, lol.

Right to repair is insane. I just don't support crap like Apple. Even when it gets to genius bar, they can charge a lot, make it worse, or just tell you to buy a new laptop. So the question asked should be, 'Why do I over pay to a Apple laptop so when it breaks I get told to buy a new one?" Apple pretty much tells you thar you don't own their over priced crap. Other companies are trying to do the same. Dell being one of them.

Love the Wolff! Always something interesting here! Keep up the good work Mr. Wolff!
Right to Repair.... “Men have become the tools of their tools. Money is not required to buy one necessity of the soul. Most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.” ― Henry David Thoreau

The true battle is not racism. The true fight is the poor v the rich.

It is a practical decision for a underpaid worker to quit and have their time to themselves, rather than sell their time and still suffer.

Richard Wolff, I'm sure Louis Rossmann would love to come on for an interview about right to repair

The pandemic put a spotlight on how American workers are treated compared to their counterparts in the rest of the developed world. Many of us are making half or a third of a livable wage

Great interview with Bob. Newspapers at one time use to have a writer or small section on Labor, so glad to see there still is an outlet that exists since newspapers have dropped that kind of reporting.

Greed, greed. I alway's hated the game monopoly because it's a game for the greedy.

Oh my, I had forgotten the horror the WTC workers experienced from the entrenched toxicity. Thank you for having this learned gentleman on the show.

Always a pleasure to watch your informative videos.
It is horrific to watch the country of my birth decend into ever deeper depths failing empire even while I am elated that that empire is falling.
Uncomfortable.
Looking forward to your next update.
