Tenerife is one of the best spots in the world for a beach holiday. Because it’s got year-round sunshine! So, here’s a list of our top 5 beaches on the island.

Number 5 - Playa de las Vistas
When you’re imagining your perfect beach holiday, Playa de las Vistas pretty much fits the bill. It’s got the long swathes of golden sand, beautiful blue waters and the last of the sunshine throughout the day, making it a great spot for an evening stroll.
And this is me doing my best impression of a ‘Wish You Were Here’ piece. Documentary? What’s the word I’m looking for? Piece, yeah. Piece? Yeah, piece is fine. Okay…piece to camera. Check it out…
Next along this sunny southern coastline is Las Vistas beach, where you maybe enjoy a bit of football, have a stroll all along the promenade or head to the marina at the very end, or just sit here; top up your holiday tan and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

Number 4 - Playa de las Americas
If you came to Tenerife for a drink and a bit of a boogey, Playa de las Americas is probably the spot for you. Think neon lights, flashing signs, two drinks for a euro, tacky keychains, but bars that lead out onto the beach. This is probably the best place you’ll go? Ever in your whole life!!
So there are loads of cocktail bars that lead straight out on to the beach, meaning this is the best place to blend your day into night time.

At number 3, Los Cristianos
Stop trying to steal this! Screw a lightbulb and pay a dog, or something…
Los Cristianos is great for the family. It’s a protected bay with shallow, calm waters, meaning that it’s pretty safe for the kids. Erm, or anyone that can’t swim very well.
When we went, there was even a pirate ship and people playing volleyball and it was just a really nice beach.

Our number 2 is Los Gigantes
So this is a pretty small beach but it’s surrounded by pretty big cliff faces. In fact, they’re even as high as 800 metres. That’s right isn’t it? 500 to 800, I’m pretty sure it is. Yeah, but, are you Googling it? 800 metres!
It definitely feels a little bit more authentic than some of the other beaches because it has that natural black volcanic sand and to be honest, it’s one of my very favourite spots on the island.

Numero Uno…Playa de las Teresitas
Teresitas is our favourite, because it’s simply beautiful. It’s surrounded by gorgeous mountains, sandy beaches and palm trees, quaint little fishing boats. It’s just gorgeous.
And even though it’s in the north of the island, it’s really not that far from somewhere like Playa de las Americas.
In fact, if you hire a car, it’s about an hour and a half’s drive so we implore you to do that! Because that side of the island is so much more beautiful. It’s where all the rain is, it means that everything is tropical and lush and there’s vegetation everywhere. So get up there, check out this beautiful beach and if you have time, get yourself up into the mountains as well.

So those were our top 5 beaches in Tenerife and here’s a quick round-up.

Number 5 - Playa de las Vistas
Number 4 - Playa de las Americas
Number 3 - Los Cristianos.
I’m only doing this because she can’t remember them.
Number 2 - Los Gigantes
And number 1, our favourite beach, Playa de las Teresitas. The one you need to go to.

But not all at once…because it’s quiet. That’s a good point.

I promised you a write up once I got back, so here goes.
As a family of 4, we stayed at the ORO BLANCO which is only a 10'ish minute walk to the beach, 20 if you plod. We spent a few day's at TROYA beach. I went around 3 shades darker in the first 3 days as I would have in almost 2 weeks had we not spent a few days at Troya. You were spot on about Las Americas being lively. However, with two young teenagers in tow, it was impossible to get to any late night clubs....that and being in my late forties too ! lol. Great places to eat out on the sea front which were all pretty much reasonably priced. Mayte was the best being a family run restaurant, followed by Royal Gardens next door to it and Playa Sol a bit further down. I think me and Dorada bonded very well ;-) 30% honey rum had to be purchased at Sofia airport to remind me of our stay. Again, thanks for you video review...we were not disappointed one bit.

Those beaches are indeed beautiful but I really miss one beach which is my favourite: Playa del Duque in Costa Adeje! It's beautiful, it's relaxing and it's in the more 'luxury' part of the island which is great for shopping etc... Hope you will visit it one time!

Las Teresitas one of the most beautiful urban beaches in Spain and the Canary Islands. It is surrounded by the Anaga Mountains, which are a World Biosphere Reserve. It is a clean and very accessible beach with frequent bus lines. It is located in the capital of Santa Cruz Island.

Can't say I agree that Los Gigantes beach is that good.
I went there last August. It wasn't very big as you cannot walk very far due to the warning of falling rocks ..very crowded and the waves were way too rough even for me and my teenage girls to go for a swim.
Either way, I'm going back to good old Tenerife this year in Aug, but as a family, we are going to give Las Americas a try. Can't wait. Oh, no way was this a slant on your video...I enjoyed it. Cheers

ladies I'm afraid you missed many of the best ones, best hidden beaches in Tenerife are in the North.. Yeah the cloudy bit of the island, although the real gems of your holidays.. very recommended!

hello i'm a native of Tenerife and I would like to visit some beaches I'm sure you will not disappoint; taganana is a set of three beaches located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the protected natural park anaga is amazing too I advise beach watching the boyuyo located inthe orotava.gracias to travel to the Canary Islands.

Girls you have listed the most comercial ones, the ones next to bars and hotels, but definitely not the best ones, best beaches of the whole island are in the north. It is true that it might not have the same weather than the south, but they are worth it.
