Royval has been close to losing so many fights (got dropped by Schnell, dropped by Kara France, almost choked out by Elliott) but manages to come back. He’s a fun fighter. All the betting action on Taira (going from -195 to -325) makes me wonder if Royval is injured. Or maybe Taira is just that good

Tim Elliot impressed me in his fight against Demetrius Johnson in 2016. Was a massive underdog like always but went the whole 5 rounds but lost, of course but today is rather washed for the game, but Taira seems like ahead of his peers.

this is a tough one to pick.. Taira was vulnerable to that chairez guillotine and royval has a good one. Royval's striking defence and overall technique is unorthodox and open to the straight punches of taira, but he can knock you out with a knee. I think that if Taira can get on top like schnell and elliot were able to it will be a lot harder for royval to scramble out of it however. He can't let taira get a dominant position

Japans true first ufc champion incoming! I’m glad it was him. Hard work, dedication, and from Okinawa! I love the kenpo background and jitjitsu is next level.
Edit: I know Brandon Royval is the real deal and props to him but this guys decision making and next level jiujitsu make him too dangerous for 5 rounds. I predict sub 4th round for Tatsuro Taira! 🎉❤
