Retention Factor Calculation - Acetone

Retention Factor (Rf) values are calculated by taking the ratio of the new distance of the pigment from its origin line divided by the distance the solvent traveled. The only ink pigment to move in the acetone solvent was the pen. The distance that the pigment traveled was 5.0 cm and the distance the solvent front traveled was 5.2 cm. The Rf value = 0.96.
