Every now and then I'll pause in a small country Cemetery and there are many interesting items but sadly going through the children's section is very difficult. Headstones from the 1920s with a picture in a little cover stating Our Only Son or those where both the mother and child died at their birth or shortly thereafter. There's even an elaborate Crypt at the Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee for one of the beer barons but even all the money and prestige could not prevent four of his seven children from dying before age 20. My parents used to check out a cemetery but sadly being in the inner-city was heavily vandalized and also was not really safe to visit anymore. Thank you for your visits and may the Lord watch over you and those you tend to

I know this is 100+ years ago but I'm so sad that baby Frank died so suddenly. ❤ It sounds like his parents did not have it easy already. May he rest in peace.

Thank you for doing what you do to preserve the earthly memories and resting places of these people.

Thank you for letting the long-deceased have their moment. I will see Facebook memes about “my generation survived” when the safety standards in the US were abysmal. I think ‘but the cemeteries are full of the ones who didn’t survive’ in this case, contaminated milk. So thank you for what you’re doing. Keep them coming.

My uncle Fernand died aged 6 in 1928 from a burst appendicitis(Normandy, France🇫🇷).Grandma(his mother)had already experienced great loss when her mother died in 1906 aged 31 from a flu leaving my grandma age 5 and her 9yrs.old brother (my great uncle) motherless as poor peasants. Their father(my great grandfather)never remarried. Later my great uncle died age 18 during WWI 1915 as a soldier gassed to death by the ennemy in a muddy trench according to french military officials who didn't know precise trench location...his remains were never found.
😭😭🙏🏻✝️🕯🪖

Thank you for caring about people.

It makes you look at your ancestors and think "wow, you made it to adulthood, long enough to find a companion to grow a family with". It's sad to think of all the lives that were cut short. Preserving their stones keeps their memories alive and if Heaven doesn't grant them wings, maybe this process does?
