Alot has changed and not for the best. Neasden was never a glamours place. But like most ofLondon it was a lot better.
I grew up here in the 70's and 80's.There used to be 3 banks, a Woolworths, an Italian ice cream parlour, a Butchers, Clarks shoes, a proper supermarket, Neasden Library, a fresh green grocers etc. Funny to see that the longest running business which is STILL THERE from the early 70's is the Opticians!

Believe it or not, this part of Neasden used to be a bustling street, with a variety of recognised shops. It's a shame what it's become. Familiar high street shops have been replaced by discount stores, takeaway after takeaway and more 24 hr grocers than a city needs, let alone a town. They're always empty too.
