Central City, Colorado

Located little over 35 miles west of Denver in the Rocky Mountains, it was a thriving town during Pike’s Peak Gold Rush in the late 1850s. Today, there are a few casinos along the main street, but it has seen better days as a gambling town. After the devastating fire in 1874, the city was rebuilt with brick buildings, which line the main streets as seen today. The Central City Opera House continues to host entertainment during the summertime.
