Is poplar farming as profitable as it appears? I spent 1 million £,$,€ finding out.

Excellent video thanks.
That is a lot of work to prove a theory, and still much to do, though the comparrison with the same period of silage on those fields is going to be very interesting to see.
I did my poplar on the very small field 10 (just under 1 tenth of your total field sizes), and didn't think to narrow the planting width so that's a tip for the future but still got 150k litres of wood chips.
Looking forwards to parts 2 & 3.

The poplar collect header will be a nice addition when it comes. Used that with an auger wagon connected to the forage harvester in 22 I could run a tractor/trailer next to the ai and offload then run it to a huge silo. In 25 I used the biobaler but next harvest I’ll use my modded stationary baler. We are only doing 200, 000 liters though in 25

Great video D/S i guessed you were right with what you said originally 🤞 and planted them and hopefully the grass doesn’t come out better it’s a pity there was a mod in 22 that made pallets out of wood chips and that would of made them even more profitable 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You’re insane. In a good way though, and you made a great amount of money from a great experiment 😊
The question now is do you dream about poplars when you sleep at night?

You convinced me not to do poplars. Completely not worth the 16 months wait time plus waiting until late December to sell at maximum profit. And the profits are not even remotely enough to justify the wait time.
