Hi Christian,
You should try Coconut briquettes sometime, they have no added binders and are great for longer low and slow sessions because they hold heat for a very long time, much longer than Charcoal. Also they don't give off a lot of ash and hardly smoke so you can take full advantage of any smokewood you want to add.
Love your channel and recipes man keep up the good work!

Cheers DJ BBQ, awesome tips. I've always used Weber briquettes which seem to take a good while to get going! I will definitely give the lumpwood a go next time 😊

It always takes me so long to light coal with the chimney, will deffo use the shaking method. I think I should use less briquettes too.

Hey Christian!
Awesome video as always. I would like to see how you tackle grilling the meat directly on the coals, I've read a bit about it and I sure would love seeing the DJ BBQ take on it!

Hey Dj- love the vids, the passion and the methods. This setup vid is cool too. I'd like to hear more of your opinions/vids on setting up different cookers like smokers, kamados, etc... have you ever tried a slow n sear? Do you use probe thermos on cooking grate? Do you smoke low and slow on a kettle? Do you always sear first then move to cooler spots to finish meat? I've got so many questions and have learned much from you. Keep up the great work!

What do you think about a drip tray with water in it, to add some humidity in there and keep the temperature a bit lower?

Is the kettle capable of long smoking cooks...brisket, pork shoulders etc? What set up is best?👍

Awesome technique - would you recommend starting with two chimneys worth (I have a feeling my chimney is half the size of yours)?

Hey DJ, you do great Lamb recipes (I've done your smoked Lamb shanks and Promite (Vegemite) like three times).

Could you do something like a Lamb bacon. Cured and smoked. I have done some, but I can't get the right cut and just end up with yummy smoked chunks of Lamb, not nice thin crispy slices. How would you do it?

Hi Christian!

I have been bullied into making Christmas lunch this year for my entire family and I'm thinking of trying to cook a whole turkey in my Weber grill. It's a 57cm kettle BBQ like the one you use in your videos. Trouble is, im a little worried im going to ruin 60 quids worth of turkey and poison everyone! I realise that I'm going to have to use the indirect method and keep topping the coals up as I go and it will probably take many days to cook and by the time it's edible I will undoubtedly have hypothermia, but I quite like a challenge! I see from your video it looks like lumpwood is what I need to go with for topping it up to avoid the chemicals in briquettes giving everyone cancer before New Years.

Bit of a cheeky question so feel free to tell me to bugger off but is there any chance you could do a video on how to put together a kind of alternative Christmas dinner done outside on the grill maybe with some sides / vegetables cooked on it too. It would be a cool video for your channel and would help me out and maybe ensure the survival of me and my family over the Christmas season.. think about it Christian.. could you live with yourself knowing you had indirectly caused the poisoning of an entire family by NOT making a video :)

Love your channel and thank you for all the inspiration! You and your channel really have helped make our summer awesome!

Best wishes
Mike

I've never heard of using a lemon on the grill surface, can someone tell me if it does anything for the cooking surface or is it just used to clean the surface?
