Here's a throwback at the Ferreira Pinto brothers' emotional race to the finish at #IMBrazil earlier this year 💯

Project Iron Brothers was born about 4 years ago, when Pedro, who suffers from cerebral palsy, heard about an IRONMAN race for the first time. Together with his brother, Miguel, they launched a national movement: to raise awareness for lack of conditions of people with cerebral palsy, and to support Association of Cerebral Palsy of Lisbon (APCL), raising funds to buy equipment, such as buses, wheelchairs and hygiene cranes for associated families in need.

Astonishing. Most people can only dream of completing a full ironman, let alone pulling someone the whole way. As a semi-serious triathlete, I cannot fathom how hard this must have been. The combination of incredible fitness, love, guts and determination are just amazing. Beautiful.

These young men's parents have to be over the moon at what great individuals they both are. The love and devotion to each other. The example set on what it means to not only set a heroic example of letting nothing stop them from over coming the odds. While the one brother carried the weight of extreme challenge the other brother had to have undying faith and trust that they could do the impossible. Truly an inspiration on all levels

If you are an athlete and get the chance to volunteer to push someone in a road race or in a Tri, do it! You will not come anywhere close to a PR, but the amount of fun you’ll have and the pure joy from the person you’re pushing will make it one of your favorite memories as with theirs.
