How to Hide Likes on Instagram

Instagram is finally removing likes and views from posts, but it's giving users the option to choose. You can hide likes and views on posts during the posting option, on your existing posts, or account-wide on all posts on your home page.

The account-wide option for hiding likes and views is under settings/privacy/posts. Here, you'll see a new option to hide likes and views.

Most people wait til you get a certain amount of likes and views before they like, view or comment on your posts, they need to see others do it first instead of having a mind of their own…and it’s just a like lol, but they act like they’re giving up money. Followers is the perfect term for social media cause most people are following other peoples actions in order to make a move themselves.

People can still see the amount of people who liked the post anyway. I hope instagram does not show any person anymore when clicking “others” like its completely blank if that make sense? That should “hide like” is all about.

Why I can’t seem to have the option even though I’d updated to the latest version of instagram? I have 2 accounts, the first acc I don’t have the option “hide like and views counts” but my 2nd acc I do have the option. Please help me

I dont have the "Post" option on the privacy thingy its just comment, tags mentions etc what do I do and ive checked if I have anything to update on Instagram but I dont it just says "open Instagram" no "update "

I’m torn if this new feature is of any benefit since you can see how many likes there are when selecting “others”. Also my personal opinion is If someone removes likes it makes me think why, like I’ll think they aren’t getting many likes, or they struggle with anxiety of the popularity contest of likes and removed it ... it’s a tricky thing really . So torn on it

Question … can you do this on old posts as well or only new ones? I did change the settings on my old posts and I can’t see likes and view counts but when i go to my page from another device as a visitor on the page I can still see it 🤔 why is that ? And how can I fix it ? Thank you 🙏🏻
