Tha k you so much for so much info, I needed it. I just got a 2021 Domane SLR6, project one, eTap, and I needed this video! Thanks so much!

Thanks David - one of your best video reviews to date being more comprehensive with fact and opinion included on more points previously discussed in comments. I also appreciate your comparison to other endurance category bikes you have reviewed. As someone who only rides in 50 - 100km distance range but who likes to focus on Strava segments I rank the 2021 Trek Domane behind the Specialized Roubaix, Giant Defy, Canyon Endurace and Argon 18 Krypton with weight and price counting against it. That said, I expect the Domane will improve in future years as Trek's better carbon from the 2021 Émonda trickles down. Until then I eagerly await your next review in this category which I expect will be the 2021 Giant Defy.

I purchased the Domane SL5 and added some WTB 700x40c tires. Makes a great gravel bike. Super comfortable bike and riding on the road is very smooth.

I just picked up a new old stock 2019 SLR9, love it and excited when I upgrade to the latest version when the time comes.

Good to see this... I tested the SL 7 eTap and the Madone SL7 and while I really like the Madone, the price is beyond me.

Great review as usual. Wish I’d seen it earlier. Next week I get my new Domane SLR 7 Di2. Would have ordered the wider range SRAM. If you are a racer, there’s the Trek Madone. If you’re a hill climber there’s the new Madone. The Domane is for smooth sailing. More so than the other brands that may be a pound or so lighter. The point is, if you’re driving cross country you’ll be more comfortable in a new Lincoln than a regular sedan. I’d still be happy to accept a Ferrari but don’t expect I’d have much use for its capabilities!

Excellent David. Interested in the smaller group set and wider range of gears. I need all the help I can get to ride up hills.

220kms is an insane ride! Great review. 8.5 kilos is still pretty light. Love those remote shift points.

I have a 2nd gen Domane SLR6 rim brake, Ultegra Di-2. I love that bike so I am sure this one is even better. Though since my bike cost me quite a few denaros I'm not looking to upgrade any time soon.

great review! You hit all the important points (err, except for the freewheel sound ;-) ). It's a gorgeous looking bike. My only questions would be about the relatively small chainrings but you covered that and the range seems fine if a smidge on the low side for fast riding on the flat

What problems with cable routing? for me it's just looking not fine but better then traditional routing and we still have possibility to detach bar for transfer. Or are there some problems with friction/knocking of cables with stem or insufficient steering?

Great video David, 8.5 kg for a bike at this price does sound a bit hefty (surely that has to be below 8) and although I think it’s lovely I agree that the cable routing again looks an afterthought, love the colour scheme and really want to try a bike with the climbing blips there and still think those wheels would be fantastic with the old Zipp logo.

Running 30mm tyres on my Diverge. What sort of pressure should I be running for a mixture of gravel and road but don't want to sacrifice speed?
