I just started watching your videos, and the first was your deactivation video. Glad to see, and hear you were reactivated. Shame you had to go through that, all while the rider still had access to their platform. It's sickening to know how they treat drivers and let riders call the shots.

Congrats on having your good name and reputation cleared. I agree that although working on both the Lyft/Uber platforms is better than working for others your body is in that same position all day for 12 hours. Not too kind to one's lower back for sure.
Anyway take care and please drive safely out there.

Tristan, I foremost want to congratulate you for sharing this video and persuading Lyft that someone slighted you for no reason. As a former psych therapist, the vibe you give in your video is that of a superb driver. I would want someone like you taking me to the airport. On the flipside, I just ended a LIVE complaint about a driver who was driving erratically, acting bossy with me and then tried to vape during the ride. This loser argued with me when I protested. I have asthma and I am sure he was vaping cannabis, but regardless, vaping is against TOS. I got tough with him and said he already lost his tip and he needed to put the pipe away. He then ended my ride in a bad neighborhood at midnight. I got on the phone LIVE with a rep and told them the story line by line. I also got all my money back. Then took another ride, where I gave my new driver a 100% tip. My point being, for every person wrongfully filing a complaint, there are losers and bozos driving and abusing the riders. This is an independent contractor job, and speaking as an IC from the IT industry .. that with driving for rideshare, the hair-trigger policy is the correct one. Such is the risk with being a driver. Lyft drivers are NOT professionally trained, have zero oversight and lots of freedom. Freedom is never without consequence and it has its price.

Hi Tristan, this was an excellent video. This is another example of why every rideshare driver NEEDS a dashcam. I've reviewed about 10 dashcams for my rideshare channel. I'm glad you you were able to keep your Lyft account with the video as your defense. I've been also thinking about doing Turo. I've used it many times and it's often times better than renting. I'm thinking of putting my old 2012 Prius on Turo and buying another used Prius(around 2016 or so) to do rideshare with. Maybe you can make a video all about Turo if you end up doing it!

Yup. Passive income is the smart way. I told my son that my first life plan for passive income worked (retired w s lucrative pension). The second part are freight share (my trucking company) and ride share (Lyft/Uber/Turo/Private driving).

My Lyft driver account got permanently deactivated for low ratings and safety issues. I was a Lyft driver for almost 5 years and they said I have had a high number of violations which they would not tell me the violations. I have had no violations for safety. My current rating shows a 4.8 stars which is good. I have been fighting the deactivation and I am not getting anywhere with them. What can I do to get my Lyft driver account back?

Real estate professional of 17 1/2 years in Austin Texas. I got laid off August 2022…. Laid off for the third time since the pandemic from a Mortgage Company. Unemployment ran out March 2023.

Driving Uber and Lyft were my back up plans. The first month was great I saw awesome money snd tips. I thought…This is going to replace my unemployment and then some ….until the last two weeks have been really difficult to get rides and lots of lowball offers.

I thought it was my acceptance rate because I was cherry picking so I have been trying to get my acceptance rate up by accepting every single ride. (Bad idea apparently)

I have been able to get my acceptance rate up by 7% but it’s really fickle because one day I excepted every ride all day and it only increased by 1% yet when I did the same thing on a Saturday having only just a little bit more in rides it increased by 5% .

I’m already giving up on ridesharing in general because gas prices are high and if I’m going to take a ride for less than five dollars or less than 7I might as well go deliver food and stay within a zone and not drive as many miles, or have to worry about what I look like too much, or putting in a little work of chitchatting with passengers.

If I’m doing DoorDash or Uber eats, I have way more potential to make 2 to 4 food deliveries per hour making 5 to 7 dollars each as a tip!

While I’m doing all of this though, I’m studying for my mortgage exam cause I’m still trying to pass it. As soon as I pass my mortgage exam, I’ll be retaking my real estate exam in case I need to become a realtor again…. All while I’m watching, what’s going on with the United States, regarding inflation and interest rates, which will affect my ability to continue being in my career.

In 2021 and 2022 I started 2 Etsy shops … and I’m still trying to grow my YouTube channel, realizing all the times I stopped posting YouTube videos because I ended up getting a job again, looking back and realized if I never would’ve stopped, I could very well be living off of a YouTube salary by now! LOL😁

It has been a bumpy road as a single mom because I don’t have family here and my child’s father lives in (San Antonio), so I don’t have the flexibility to be able to give my son to somebody so that I can go work outside of school hours like evenings, and every single weekend as opposed to every other weekend.

I’m still applying for jobs. In fact, I’m applying for temp jobs and permanent part time jobs . I’m willing to take anything that’s going to give me more of a consistent income than trying to rely on Uber and Lyft and even DoorDash every single day.!

I’d rather have even a part-time consistent job and supplement the other days I don’t work with gig work .

You know if there was no police report filed or anything Lyft should just automatically assume these idiots are lying. I would sue the person who made the complaint in small claims court for $500/day for every day you were unable to drive.

Great video and thank you for sharing. I am not a financial advisor, but as a suggestion the money is in baby boomers/elderly care who is now retired or going to retire with having to deal with inflation. Having multiple homes to offer rooms too these baby boomers is where the money is without doing very much work. People are living longer and senior housing is such a long waiting period with most trying to get a roof over there head. Biding on foreclosed homes that is sold by banks or credit union is the way to get land at a reasonable price. Also non medical transportation is a good business. As a licensed billing and coding specialist you can make good money transporting elderly to doctors appointments, assisting with picking up needed medicine and groceries. Another idea is create your own non medical app for drivers. I know you are saying to yourself " have ( she) accomplished any of these suggestion" and no I have not due to working on financial freedom from all my debts. Plus I had death in the family that set me behind on my goals. Last but not least my suggestion comes out of desperation due to my age which I am a baby boomer. Congratulations on being reactivated. Keep on keeping on with your goals. Be safe out there!!!!

Hi Tristan. I really like your videos, they have helped me a lot. I just started with Lyft 2 weeks ago to get some extra money. Here's a question for you: I referred a driver, he was accepted, he got the 'income promise' (or whatever they call that), and he got a $100 new driver bonus. And I ... .did NOT get the referral bonus. I asked them about it, but they say that the driver has not completed all the requirements and that they cannot say no more. In my account it does not even show that I have referred another driver. I have been on the chat with them for over 4 hours and it is leading to NOTHING. I am very upset. Any idea what I can do?

I’m done with Lyft. I had an entitled group yesterday that got mad cause I said no food or drinks( plate of tacos and an opened soda) it all went down from there. Long story short she said I didn’t fit my profile and now my payment method is on hold for 48 hrs meaning I can’t cash out my money I earned like I usually do over a freaking lie. They failed me and told me next time to call the police
