I do it a little different. I look at the itinerary Then ask myself. What am I doing on that day. Then i sticky note my clothing. Embarkation day out fit. MDR ouut fit. 2nd Day is mostly a sead day. I will be wearing my bathing suit most of the day with a nice cover up that can be worn indoor and out. I stiky note that. And so on for each day. I include shoes. I try 1 formal shoe that goes with MDR and formal night. ! sandals that go with every out fit and beach shoes for excursions.

I'm one of those people who LOVE to pack. What's most helpful to me is the "re-assess" step because it's the one that saves me from over-packing. If I do it, I realize at least a couple of items can be pulled out. I'll be taking my 9th cruise soon and will be doing ALL of your steps!

We're going on our 3rd cruise in May.. first cruise we waayyy over packed. 2nd cruise was much better, bought a back pack instead of using a medium size carry on. This time I think we're better prepared and know exactly what we need to take. Packing videos helped alot!!!

I have been the same size for years. One Christmas I had put on a dress for a party & it did not fit! Trying on clothes that aren’t on rotation is great advice. I couldn’t imagine that moment of an upcoming outfit not fitting happening on vacation 😫

I’ve cruised several time’s driving to port of Miami on carnival but on may 16 I’m flying to Rome for a 10 day cruise on royal Caribbean “odyssey of the seas “ I’m super excited. I’ve started now putting in things together but I’ve not got my clothes sorted out ! I’m stressing cause I have to meet the luggage weight of ITA airways! And I’m an over packer !! Always wanting more clothes than I need then of course all the little items to put in our room! Wall magnets, clock, motion lights, I’m so worried I won’t be able to get this right ! 🙀 so I just watch u tube videos over and over ! But thank you so much for all the valuable information! 😊

Always the best packing tips and packing video’s Sheri, thank you. The step of stepping back and reviewing what your packing a week later is a really good one and what I do. It helps a great deal to ensure what you’re packing is going to work for that particular trip. I spent years overpacking and now pack carry-on only and it so freeing not to lug around large suitcases. I also use a capsule wardrobe concept that with a few minor changes here and there, depending on the trip, make pulling together everything I need to pack in a snap.

We're getting ready for a Carnival Cruise, at the end of February. This will be our 4th or 5th Cruise. Several got canceled during Covid, but we're back again.
I generally pack and shop a little at a time, and a week before, I go thru for a "final curtain call."
This Cruise will be different for us. Going down a day early, and coming back 2 days after. So, we have to pack 2 kinds of bags, but that's ok. We're driving, so we can pack whatever we want.
I really appreciate your "over packing, " because I'm always the "just in case" person of our lives, so I take EVERYTHING, because you just don't know. Thank you for what you do.

You talked about doing laundry on the ship and we use laundry sheets ( true earth), these are very light and we wash our small items using a extra large zip lock bags. We find that this works well.

Sherri we have watched your videos for a few years now. Our first cruise was scheduled for May of 2020😞 we waited till recently to try again so we are rebooked now for September this year. I am definitely in the re-assess stage of my packing! Hubby and I are heading on a 10 night cruise with MSC leaving Feb 22nd. Flying from P.E.I, Canada to Ft Lauderdale and getting on the cruise in Miami. This will be our 6th cruise [2nd with MSC] and I'm a chronic overpacker!
