So happy for you!! You are so blessed to live in such an active and friendly community! It sounds so amazing! And I love the golf cart transportation, in nice weather at least 😉! I recently moved to a small rural town that is also the way we remember life decades ago. Super friendly, lots of town activities (though not as many as the villages), farmer's markets in the town square and bands in the town square gazebo. I liken it to Stars Hollow in the Gilmore Girls show. 😊 But it's a historic town, so unlike the villages, all the homes are very diverse, and my 1880 Victorian is one of the newest homes!! I'm 68 too and like you, I very much value the peace and tranquility of that life style. I tell friends and family back east in the urbanized Philadelphia suburbs from where I moved, that I can now live in peace before I rest in peace! 😊 Thanks for sharing your community. I can tell how happy you are there, and I'm happy for you!! 🥰

How timely! My BIL, SIL, DH and I just returned from a lifestyle visit. As you said, everything is so nicely done and well maintained. For anyone interested, a lifestyle visit is a great way to get a feel for life in The Villages with absolutely no pressure. We were given a two hour tour by a realtor, had questions answered, and then went out on our own with the golf carts and bicycles also supplied. The homes we stayed in were new and beautifully decorated. It was a great visit. The only problem was we allowed four nights but probably should have scheduled a longer visit. BIL and wife ended up purchasing a home! I think it will be a great move for them.Thanks for the tour, Kimberly!

Thank you for this! Last month I was visiting a friend who lives there, and I loved it so much!! You are right about all the activities and groups. Something for everyone!! That newspaper is overwhelming but necessary. I'm glad you're enjoying your life there. My friend did the same thing you did: visited by herself a few times, then bought her house, met her soulmate, and got married! ❤ They are having the best time of their lives!

I laughed when you said your dog loves the golf cart. I can pretty much guarantee mine will not. She tried to jump out of a shopping cart when she was a puppy and almost got hit! She hates the car despite my taking her on fun trips to the dog park. I’m hoping she adjusts when I move there. 😂
