I was going to say "all you're missing is some salt" 😂

Milk by itself is an emulsion, so the oil homogenises pretty well with the milk given enough heat and movement just like the act of steaming it. What the oil does other than adding olive flavour is altering flavour release, the order of which chemical compound evaporates inside your mouth first.

In Malaysia a traditional coffee drink we have is Kopi Butter (Butter Coffee), where we literally put a knob of salted butter into a cup of hot coffee (though we usually use margerine, which is usually salted, because it's way more common and accesible here than butter). Its absolutely fantastic, slightly salty, slightly fatty. Id say adding salt to the olive oil latte was a fantastic decision

Edit: Since people seem bothered by the mention of margerine, you'd be happy to know that a lot of margerines now are trans fat free (the stuff that makes it bad) and are even lower in saturated fats than butter (the stuff that makes butter bad).

We're all adults here. We take our own educated risks and rewards.

Regardless, if a teaspoon of margerine once in a bluemoon is THAT scary to you, there's a bunch of modern studies you can read up on about margerine and why it's not inherently bad anymore as most oldschool thinking would lead you to believe.

Enjoy your coffee, everyone.

Starbucks Barista Here! Starbuck has us mix the espresso with the olive oil its self; instead of the milk, i definitely changes the texture a little. Give it a try! personally i hate our Oleato coffee - because our espresso is burnt

Espresso comes from Italy as well as “capuccino” (you’re latte) here in the city of Genoa we have it with a type of bread typical from the city which is called “Focaccia”. Is a famous breakfast, staplemark of the city (same city of pesto sauce). The focaccia is very oily and salty so for as weird as it sound (nobody in the country would deliberatly add oil and salt to a cappuccino) the resulting taste is probably similiar. Only thing left to do, come here and taste the real deal! Love from Italy 🇮🇹

i think it makes a lot of sense. oil is a lot better at transferring flavors to your tongue than water is, so it tends to enhance the flavor in anything. getting the balance right so it tastes good without being greasy is the hard part

S.E.Asian have been drinking coffee roasted with butter and margarine. Also some love to add a slice of butter into brewed hot coffee. It is not new to add oil.

Oils/fats work surprisingly well in a lot of drinks. Hot Buttered Rum is another one absolutely worth trying, sounds weird but is delicious.

I love the way the oil bubbled to the surface in the milk.

All these people talking about how the olive oil is adding a lot of calories, so far I've seen nobody talk about how olive oil is a diuretic. All I'm saying is keep it to one cup a day or else you will have made a potion of pooping.

I've heard that there might be some uh... More concerning side effects later... 💩 Let us know if you're okay! 😅

If you think about it, milk has fats, and adding more fat like oil or butter just makes it more creamier. Definitely gonna try this out

You guys need to look up egg coffee from Vietnam. I've visited recently and the coffee scene and roastery scene is insane. They only really grow robusta which needs more sweetness than Arabica so the ways they make their coffee is totally different. Really opened my mind

Putting olive oil in coffee sounds absolutely rancid and no one is going to convince me to try it
