Kelly came in clutch! She did a great job although she short-changed herself by riffing downward instead of holding the ends of the phrases. The beginning of "sorrow" was amazing, and showed she had the ability to expand and sustain it and the others. We get a glimpse of what Kelly can really do when she's free. This also proves Kelly is a Soprano and not a Mezzo, because there was zero tension (and even some air) in the C6; she could have held it even longer if she wanted. While Beyoncé can obviously do it, every time she does (even in Flawless) she can only hold it for so long bc she's a Mezzo, yet she hides it well.

It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it's just technical observation.

Hollon can we talk about how Michelle was carrying and extra verse as well to help bey out while she was sick😍😍, like it’s not even just the vocals for me with them cause no doubt every DC member can sing that’s something we all know for sure, that’s solidified. But it’s the sisterhood for me. The essence of it and also the sisterhood that they carry in there harmony and that’s more than them just singing, if you ever listened to siblings that can sing, sing together. You know that a harmony is very easy to pitch into for them like the Braxton sisters for instance but DC blood or no blood have got IT . I love that

their supported ranges overall aren’t too far; Bey does have a slightly stronger lower and higher register, but she definitely takes the cake with her consistently resonant mix and agility
