Non Contact Voltage Detector V2

Non Contact Voltage Tester - This is V2. I lowered the value of the current limiting resistor for the LEd from 1K to 330R. Still using the 3 2n2222 npn transistors as the amplifier. And we are using an active buzzer, a standard buzzer will not work.

HEY YOU ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING STUPID:
One of the symptoms is that is causes fluid retention, mostly in the hands, feet/ankles, and face.
It will kill me one day. I'm doing ok right now, but someday...

Glad you got your shot. I am in that catagory of having reacted to other shots so I may not be able to get it at all. Or I might end getting weird reactions like you. I am glad you shared that because it is good to hear first hand accounts of shot experiences.

Great you had your vacation. And good to hear you too took out your house mains, I loved chemistry, you could go and buy big bottles of sulphuric acid from the local chemist back then …… and great circuit. I enjoyed watching the assembly.

6:02 so you did exactly same thing which was I'm doing at about very young age :D I had plugs screwed in though. and ran away from home immediately, freaked me out so badly. connecting mains plugs together

Nice voltage detector and story...i have my fair share of crazy stories from 7th grade electronics class! Brought back memories.

I got my 2nd shot the 10th and this one made my arm sore and I was tired and foggy the next day. That was it for that.
With that said my sugar ran real high all day the 11th and 12th but that may or may not had anything to do with the shot... :-)
Glad you are ok and got your shots.
That is a cool project and something for a gift for those DIY kids I have... LOL
Don't know how I missed the first video but I will go and find it... :-)
Thanks for the video!

My first dose didn't make me sweat, but I slept for most of the next day. Congrats on getting the jab.

The shot made me feel ill for that night and the next day, sweats and shivers, dizzy head, a bit like a condensed version of the flu that was the Oxford
I got live circuit detection in at least two of my meters, but it would make a very nice gift too a friend or as a promo give away.

When I was a toddler, about 60 years ago, here in the UK we had 15A un-shuttered mains sockets.
My Mother has told me that one day, she found me on the floor crying, with a blister on the end of my finger, Close to where I was sat, there was one of the aforementioned sockets.
The assumption was that 'mini me' had shoved my finger into the socket.
From that day forward, Mother always maintained that she knew that I was going to have a career in the electrical industry. She was correct.

No, I didn't know about those additional services offered by PCBway. Very cool! Maybe I'll hold off on that 3in1 3d printer, I've been saving up for. Thanks!
LOL! Back in the 70s, while still young and a little more stupid, I nearly fried myself hooking up an evaporation cooler, while sitting on a metal MH roof. While clamping down on a barrel connector (wires supposed to be dead), the tool broke through the insulation. 110VAC passed though a hole in the handle into my hand. My muscles froze, so I couldn't let go.
The cooler pads were off, with the pump running so water was splashing near me, but I couldn't move. I could feel the energy being drained out of my body, so I tried to shout for my brother Ed to shut off the switch. It came out like EeEeEeEeEeEe!!!
With 60 cycles humming through my body, I couldn't tell how loud I was shouting, but he got the message and switched off the cooler. I collapsed in relief, totally exhausted. A neighbor came running from about a block away to see what had happened!
So, that was one of my mean old teachers. It was a lesson well learned. Should have used 'an ounce of prevention' with a voltage tester. lol!

I'm 60 Paul and get my jab next weekend. Your wee board is working better now. I need the buzzer loud as my hearing isn't the greatest! 🤣

15:52 you made my day with your "sacrebleu!" :-) It's probably the first time I've ever heard this word pronounced in my entire life, only saw it written in old French books from like 3 centuries back !! Very much a pirate's exclamation!
PS - if I may ask you Paul: did you manage to maintain your pilot's licence current since 2000? Do you still get time to fly, and if so may I ask what plane? I started my PPL in 2010 on a Robin DR400 (excellent French plane, a joy to fly), just got about 30 hours flying time logged but didn't go further for many reasons (meeting my wife being one)... At the time I also got to try a Robin HR200, a Cessna 152, a Piper Cub, a Socata TB9 Tampico, and last but not least, a Piper PA28, my favourite...

Great pair of videos, especially as I just saw ElectroBoom’s version of an NCV tester: I laughed my head off but, but also very confused about the antenna and the need for the user to hold the circuit and be connected to earth ground. Can anyone clarify if/where capacitance comes in? The above requirements are also listed for a commercial unit I have.

I did something similar, around age 11. Assumed I could charge an AA battery by giving it a quick buzz from the mains. No damage done, thankfully.

Hello, why are there 3 transistors used please?

Nice AC detector. When you said you could make a better electro-magnet, I thought you were going to talk about using a car battery, Not a MAINS extention lead. LOL. Stay safe Paul.
